Is it possible to get too thin?

It is unusual for a person to become too thin after bariatric surgery. Weight-loss surgery still allows you to ingest and absorb about 1,000 to 1,500 calories a day, enough to maintain a healthy weight. With time, you will be able to eat more than you were able to immediately after surgery. With the Lap-Band, the size of the band can be adjusted to help you reach your target weight; further adjustments are not needed once you meet this target.
